Over the next couple of weeks I'm going to be out of Ohio. Junkie that I am, there will probably continue to be some blogging (if only to attempt out-vistaing Pho). Rest assured, regularly scheduled programming will resume.

Garland Campaign Office to be located in Bexley
Attend the Grand Opening and meet Nancy Garland, a Democrat running for the the Ohio Statehouse in the 20th district. From the campaign:
Event: Nancy Garland Campaign Office Grand Opening
When: Sunday, July 6th
Where: 2738 East Main Street, Bexley, OH 43209
Time: 3pm
Please join Nancy Garland, Democratic Candidate for Ohio’s 20th House District, at her campaign office opening in Bexley, on Sunday, July 6th at 3pm. This event will have light refreshments and will provide a great opportunity to speak with the candidate before she heads out into the community to talk to voters about her campaign. We hope to knock on 2,000 doors on Sunday, so volunteers are of an utmost importance.
Campaign Updates - Robinson, Garland
David Robinson (Democrat running for U.S. House in OH-12)has released the latest version of his E-newsletter, with one article comparing incumbent Republican Pat Tiberi's recent rhetoric about multi-faceted energy solutions with his actions on the floor; actions which have promoted fossil fuels while inhibiting conservation and alternative energy development. The other article gives some background on Robinson's energy policy positions, a key part of his campaign since the unveiling of his “Apollo II Energy Initiative.”
Nancy Garland has announced a couple of major labor group endorsements: The Ohio AFL-CIO and the Ohio Education Association. Garland says: “Many Ohioans are struggling during these rough economic times -- focusing on the foundation of a strong work force will help to transition and build for our future.”
Closer to home, Garland is opening a campaign office in downtown Bexley (details in next post).

Bexley's 4th
A nice-sized chunk of Bexley's identity is tied to Independence Day. I have to leave town for the weekend, but I'm not leaving until after the parade. I would lose what Bexley cred I have were I to miss it.
For those looking to make last minute plans, the entire day's activities can be accessed through the Bexley Celebrations Associations website, including morning schedule, parade route, and evening schedule.
